Since the day I turned 30, I have been trying to become a better version of myself, 1% better every day, in every aspect of my life. If you improve 1% better every day for a year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done.

To do this, I challenge myself, I test many methods and above all, I consume a lot of content. Like a fucking lot.

This newsletter is a digest of everything I have seen, read, listened to or tried during my journey.

An hour’s meeting with Maxime whom I knew little. One hour of brainstorm on my album project where we talked about vision, image, impact, social networks. Beyond the relevant advice and his experience, it is his “concreteness” that is impressive. Wake up each morning inspired to become the person you want to become.

Your identity emerges from your habits. Every day, you make hundreds of habits (conscious or unconscious) which, repeated daily, reinforce your identity. The word identity is derived from the Latin words essentitas, meaning “to be”, and identidem, meaning “many times”. Simply put, your habits are the way you personify your identity.


You are what you repeat every day.

  • (+) You are an organized person because you make your bed every morning
  • (-) You are lazy because you spend your evenings slumped over in front of the TV.
  • (+) You are athletic because you will run several times a week
  • (+) You are a healthy person because you always eat 2/3 of vegetables
  • (-) You are a person without ambition because you never finish things.

You're NOT the problem (but your system)

You’ve probably already tried to change things, like joining the gym or trying out the new trendy diet. I can reassure you right away: if you are having trouble changing your habits, the problem is not with you, but with the system you are using.

Creating new habits (that last) is based on changing your identity and having an effective system in place. You may develop a habit because you are motivated at the time, but you will only stick to it if the system maintains it long enough to make it part of your identity.

Anyone can convince himself or herself to go to the gym or eat healthy, but if you don’t believe in it, you will find it difficult to implement these changes over the long term and improvements will remain temporary.

Just as, if you continue to apply the same habits as in the past, you will get the results you have always had. As Albert Einstein rightly said: “Insanity is to always behave the same way and expect a different result.”

Are you becoming the person you want to be?

Take a moment to think about the answer. If you hesitate, then the answer is no. So it’s time to make a change because life is far too short to let your best years pass you by without doing anything.

Every new (good) habit that is successfully implemented will not only give (positive) results and bring you closer to the person you want to become, but it will also give you self-confidence. You will begin to believe that you can really accomplish things, to see that “the impossible” becomes “possible”.

As you go from small victories to small victories, the results begin to change, and the story you tell yourself begins to change as well.

  • You don’t “just” want to run a marathon, you want to become a runner.
  • You don’t “just” want to read one book a week, you want to become a reader.
  • You don’t “just” want to quit smoking or eat meat, you want to become a healthy person
